In the interests of providing advice and assistance we can confirm that Council Officers were aware of the need to upgrade the ageing street lighting assets around the bridge; columns needed to be replaced or uprighted, lanterns to be replaced with up to date LED lights and a monitoring system installed along with a new base station.

A decision was made to replace all at once necessitating a single road closure in this difficult location. The opportunity was taken to undertake other road maintenance works whilst the road closure for street lighting works was in place, including patching works.
