I would like to request the following data relating to Fixed Penalty Notices (FPNs) issued to letting agents by your authority’s housing enforcement and/or Trading Standards functions, for 2019, 2023, 2024 and 2025:
1. The number of FPNs issued to letting agents
2. The total value of FPNs issued to letting agents (£)
3. The number of FPNs issued to letting agents that year which, as of today, have not yet been fully paid
4. The total value of FPNs issued to letting agents that year which, as of today, have not yet been paid
2019 – zero
2023 – zero
2024 – 1 FPN issued for £5,000, which was fully paid.
2025 – zero
In the interests of providing advice and assistance, Devon County Council can confirm that housing departments are based within District and Unitary Councils, and these organisations might well hold additional information which is relevant to this request.
Please note that the information provided relates to the Heart of the South West Trading Standards area, which includes the areas covered by Devon County Council, Plymouth City Council (since April 2021), Somerset Council and Torbay Council.
