Why doesn’t the grass verges get litter picked and cleared of debris at the same time the grass gets cut?
Devon County Council does not hold this information. By way of explanation we can advise that Street Cleaning ( including litter picking) is a District Council responsibility. Grass cutting of highway verges is the responsibility of the County Council. In many communities, grass cutting is undertaken by District, Parish or Town Councils on behalf of the County Council.
