The street lighting is part of the highway works associated with the adjacent residential planning permission. They are funded by the developer.
7) Is the 40 MPH speed limit starting just in front of the crossroads suitable and safe?
The 40mph speed limit is considered appropriate in this location.
8) Were existing wooden poles considered to hang lights on? As in the rest of the village (much cheaper)
The location of street lighting is determined by lighting levels with existing poles being used wherever possible.
9) What is the minimum width for a main road carriageway in the county? The A373 for example.
Devon is a historic county with many roads that do not conform to contemporary standards, there is no minimum width.
10) If the carriageway is reduced are warning signs required?
