The Information Governance team is responsible for delivering training on matters relating to Freedom of Information / GDPR / Data Protection Act. Training material and guidance notes on each subject are available for each area below.
Freedom of Information:
The Information Governance (IG) team has not delivered any training on Freedom of Information to staff outside of the IG team in the last 12 months. Provided below are links to training materials and guidance notes which have been used for training purposes within the IG team:
GDPR:
This training material has been used for staff training on the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).
Data Protection Act:
All Council staff are required to undertake mandatory Data Protection training, which is provided for all staff via our E-Learning portal, a pdf of which is provided here
A presentation on Information Governance is given to all new members of staff who work for Devon County Council, and this is provided here
The IG Team also delivers introductory training to elected councillors. This is available through our Members’ Induction Key Messages training.
In addition, bespoke Data Protection training is also provided by the IG team to various Council teams. This is available here and here.
Training on Security Incident investigation skills is also provided.
