Taw Torridge Estuary Site of Special Scientific Interest

Natural England Commissioned Report NECR281 Identification of Wintering Wildfowl High Tide Roosts & Recreational Disturbance Impacts on the Taw Torridge Estuary Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI)

Provide all actions that you have undertaken, directly and specifically, in response/relation, to the above report, in all respects, (not just limited to the RSPB reserve).

The North Devon Coast AONB (Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty) Partnership is supported by a small team of officers that is hosted by Devon County Council. The Partnership has a small grants fund for local projects that supported the contract to commission the study.

The AONB Manager has been a member of the ‘project’ steering group overseeing the study and subsequent discussions about possible actions in response to the recommendations.

Over 80% of the study area is outside the AONB and the AONB team does not own or manage any land so does not have the powers to implement most recommendations.

The North Devon AONB team has not taken any actions in response to or in relation to the study, apart from sharing the final report with AONB Partnership members
