Supported Living – Adult Learning Disabilities

1. Please provide the total number of individuals aged 18-65 with learning disabilities funded by the local authority in supported living

a. Please provide the number of individuals aged 18-65 with learning disabilities supported with fees of £749 a week or less.

b. Please provide the number of individuals aged 18-65 with learning disabilities supported with fees of between £750 and £899 a week.

c. Please provide the number of individuals aged 18-65 with learning disabilities supported with fees of between £900 and £1,299 a week.

d. Please provide the number of individuals aged 18-65 with learning disabilities supported with fees of between £1,300 and £1,499 a week.

e. Please provide the number of individuals aged 18-65 with learning disabilities supported with fees over £1,500 a week.

This information to answer questions a) to e) above is not held centrally.  In order to locate, retrieve and extract this information, we would need to manually review all 569 case files individually.  There is currently no code for ‘supported living’ to easily separate out these files.

We estimate that for each case this would take between 5 and 10 minutes, meaning that the whole exercise would take somewhere between 47 and 92 hours.

We are therefore not obliged to provide this data under Section 12 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 – ‘Cost of Compliance’.  However, should you wish to refine your request to fit within the parameters outlined above, we would be happy to review.

Devon County Council is currently reviewing how it holds this data, and we hope to be in a position to be able to report on this data more easily in the future.

2. Please provide a list of the learning disabilities care providers of supported living services used by the local authority. To clarify, this does not include sole providers of accommodation, such as housing associations; only registered care providers.
