“The Devon County Council (DCC) online Environment Viewer identifies 24 locations for future investigations in relation to future flood schemes. The below link provides the specific webpage referred to with the features marked as a red circle with a black star:
I would like to request the following information in relation to each of these locations:-
1. The specific location of these investigations
2. A short summary of the issue identified
3. A summary of the flood improvement measure being proposed and the location of this.”
The areas identified on the Environment Viewer for future investigations are detailed in the table below. These have been prioritised in accordance with the Investment Criteria set out in the Local Flood Risk Management Strategy with the main influence being the risk of flooding to properties in terms of quantity, frequency and associated hazard. Recent flood events have provided significant information to inform the list of prioritised locations. This list, however, is not exhaustive and may be subject to change due to other flooding events, improved knowledge of flood risk or collaborative opportunities with others.
The highest priorities in the County are currently being developed through the Local Strategy Action Plan within Defra’s 2015-2021 6-year Flood & Coastal Erosion Risk Management Programme. Future investigations will, therefore, not be progressed until the completion of the current programme, except where other opportunities arise enabling them to be progressed earlier, as detailed below. The earliest review date is for the next funding period, details of which are yet to be announced, so there is no guarantee that all or any will be progressed and how they will be further prioritised.
Information relating to the flood events affecting these areas have been reported in the specific Flood Investigation Reports for the numerous flood events that have occurred over recent years, published on our website.
Until we are in a position to review the flood risk at these locations, we are unable to confirm any identified issues or what improvements are required.
