Could you please confirm the maximum weight limits permitted on the following two bridges.
1) Sampford Peverell Canal Bridge (a Grade II listed bridge) at Sampford Peverell
This bridge is referenced as 02490 Sampford Peverell Canal bridge. Our records show that this bridge has no weight limit (signed or otherwise). Any normal and lawful vehicle is therefore permitted to use it.
2) Kidwell Bridge – (a single lane bridge) going over the A361 on the road between Uplowman Road and Halberton, at Grid Reference ST 00864 14261i.e. approx. Easting 300864, Northing 11426.
Devon County Council (DCC) do not hold any information or records for a bridge named Kidwell Bridge. There are no bridges within our responsibility named Kidwell Bridge.
DCC records show the nearest bridges to the location provided are 04096 Broadview Farm bridge and 04097 Greenway Farm bridge. These bridges have no weight limit (signed or otherwise). Any normal and lawful vehicle is therefore permitted to use them.
