1. In relation to the proposal by Devon County Council to introduce on-street charging in Tavistock, please confirm when you intend to close the consultation period.
Proposals for Tavistock were advertised from 7th December 2023 to 7th January 2024. The Council provided a longer timeframe for consultation than the original 21 days due to the consultation running over the Christmas period.
2. Please disclose all internal records regarding the rationale of the decision to launch the consultation over the Christmas period.
The consultation periods for Orders Advertised have been published in those adverts, in the local press, notices (placed on-street) and Council webpages. There was a problem with the original advert in the local press, which meant there was a need to amend it. Subsequently the consultation period took place over the Christmas period. The information the Council holds in relation to this is in this email thread, which also relates to the other proposed sites.
Please note redactions have been made to some information within the email. This information is exempt from disclosure under Section 40(2) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (Personal Data). The Council cannot disclose personal information if releasing it would contravene any of the provisions in the Data Protection Act 2018. In this instance release of this information would contravene the first data protection principle and therefore the information is withheld.
