Changes to the requirement to submit GP ‘Fit note’ after seven day period of absence

In order to increase GP capacity to support the COVID-19 booster programme, the government has introduced legislation temporarily removing the requirement for employees absent from work through illness to obtain a GP Fit Note after a period of seven days, instead making this period twenty-eight days. The communication in the link below provides further information.

"Weeks run from Monday to Sunday. Please note that weeks without communications to schools are ignored and the links will go to the last week where a communication was made in this category."
