The Devon Landscape Policy Group is an informal partnership of officers from planning authorities and land management organisations across the geographical county of Devon. The Group facilitates joint working on landscape planning and management issues that have implications across administrative boundaries, under the National Planning Policy Framework 2012 duty to co-operate.
The Group formed in 2005 to develop the Devon Landscape Character Assessments using a common methodology based on national guidance. The Group has worked well, meeting every three months, with consistent outputs now emerging on other joint landscape issues, including Advice Notes on coastal policy and guidance on siting and design of wind and solar pv developments in Devon’s landscape.
