Staff changes within the Early Years and Childcare Service
The Early Years and Childcare Service would like to welcome Katy Vallance and Beth Trantham who have recently joined the team as Early Years and Childcare Advisors (EYCAs).
We would like to congratulate Tamsin Robertson who has been appointed as one of the team leads, within the Early Years Consultants Team (EYC), alongside Julie Adams. The team will be looking to recruit for a new EYC but in the meantime some of the team will be covering additional areas.
A message from Katy Vallance:
Hello to you all, you great Early Years Providers in Devon! My name is Katy and I will be the new Early Years and Childcare Advisor for Barnstaple, Braunton, Ilfracombe and Chulmleigh. I come with just over 18 years of working with children and families in various childcare roles from working myself up from the bottom of the childcare career ladder to the top and also working as part of a local children’s centre to help improve better outcomes for children. I really am looking forward to getting out and about in my patch to meet you fab providers out there to help support you during this very busy yet exciting time for the childcare sector. See you soon!
A message from Beth Trantham:
My name is Beth Trantham. I have worked in Early Years since my children were 1 and 4 years old, when I set up my first Day Nursery in 2002. I subsequently opened two other settings but have since returned to owning just one, which now runs with a highly skilled day to day management team. I have various experiences of Early Years working, including set up and running of multiple settings, staff- and change-management, finances, dealing with parents and children, external agencies, and of course Ofsted. I hold Early Years Teacher Status and have previously worked as ROSPA trained play inspector, accountant and nanny. I am also a qualified Mental Health First Aider and am passionate about ensuring holistic well-being in practitioners, children and families alike.
I am looking forward to the new EYCA role, working with settings and childcare professionals in Ivybridge and Tavistock. In particular, I am keen to learn more about the unique experiences facing you as individuals and groups and to be able to share some of my experiences.
