The Education Endowment Foundation (EEF) guide to the early years pupil premium

The EEF has published a new guide to the Early Years Pupil Premium (EYPP) in early years settings.

The guide references the importance of ensuring that settings have an EYPP strategy that boosts the outcomes of socio-economically disadvantaged children in order to narrow the learning gap. It gives six focus areas to support any setting when structuring an EYPP strategy. Within any setting there will more than likely be other children who are experiencing socio-economic disadvantage, beyond those who are eligible for the EYPP; your strategy can meet their needs as well.

The Early Years and Childcare Service plan to run briefings next term regarding EYPP and how it can be best used to support individual children. Dates will be announced soon.
