Starting next week – early years inclusion virtual drop in consultations

Our new model of weekly, locality-based virtual ‘drop‑in’ consultations will begin next week.

These sessions offer a solution‑focused opportunity to discuss any questions or concerns relating to an individual child’s development, or to explore aspects of SEND practice and provision within your setting.

Each consultation will be co‑run by a Team Lead and a Senior Inclusion Practitioner, with attendance from an Early Years Quality and Inclusion Partner (EYQIP) and an Early Years Sufficiency and Welfare Advisor (EYSWA). Together, they will provide advice, support, and signposting tailored to your needs.

Settings are encouraged to book a consultation to discuss:

  • Attendance, emotional dysregulation, or anxiety concerns
  • Advice or support around SEND provision, including implementing a graduated approach, Ordinarily Available Inclusive Provision (OAIP), or targeted support
  • Children who may be at risk of, or are already experiencing, a reduction in funded hours
  • Transition planning and support

Each appointment will last up to thirty minutes, and we ask that settings book only one slot per week. Bookings must be made within your designated locality. If additional capacity is required, more slots will be released.

Please note: these consultations are for pre‑reception children only. Schools seeking support for reception‑aged children should continue to book a primary school SEND consultation slot.

Further note: if discussing a child, consent will need to be gained.
