Last chance for wraparound childcare funding – applications close soon!

Time is running out to secure school aged wraparound childcare funding – a vital opportunity for schools, PVIs, and childminders to start or expand childcare services.

Deadline

• Wednesday 4 February 2026

Funding requirement

• Settings must be open at least one day in March 2026 (full opening can follow in April).

Funding highlights

Schools and PVIs:

• Full wraparound (8am–6pm, 5 days): up to £40,000
• Partial childcare (before & after school): minimum 3 days/week (6 hours up to £15,000)
• Expansion: £100 per new place (£200 if both breakfast & after school)
• Support funding for existing childcare settings: average claim £2,000 for resources, staffing, inclusion, etc.
• Start-up/expansion grants: up to £1,000 (can be added to any of the above applications, for resources, recruitment, training etc)

Childminders:

• Start-up grant: £600,  Childminders working with assistants: up to £1,000
• New places: £100 each (£200 if both BC & ASC)

Transport grants:

Limited funds available for school-to-school or school to setting transport.
