It’s time to complete the Provider Self Update and Early Years Census

This term we are asking all providers to update a new task on the Provider Self Update. There is a new tab called ‘chargeable extras’, which you can find under the ‘costs’ tab. This has been introduced in line with the updates to the Statutory Guidance asking providers to have clearer information on their chargeable extras.

Please see updated PSU Guidance Notes and a new Chargeable Extras training video. If you do not have any chargeable extras please make a note in the ‘Comments for Local Authority’ section on the ‘cost details’ tab.

Funded providers – it’s the spring term which means all funded private, voluntary, and independent sector providers must also complete the Early Years Census information. There is a link to add the census information on the Provider Self Update.

Please also complete the census by 6 February 2026.
