Findings of Ofsted’s Big Listen public consultation

In January 2024, His Majesty’s Chief Inspector, announced his intention to carry out the Big Listen, a comprehensive consultation that asked for people’s views on how to improve our approach to inspection and regulation.

The Big Listen was launched in early March. It gave professionals, children and learners, parents, carers, and the public an opportunity to give their feedback across 4 areas: Ofsted’s culture, inspection practice, reporting and the impact of inspection.

In September 2024, Ofsted published the response to the Big Listen, setting out the actions they will take to address what they have heard.
