Devon County Council re-design of education and learning services – early years and childcare update: 26th September 2025
Welcome to our second update on the ongoing redesign of Devon’s Education and Learning Services, specifically focusing on Early Years and Childcare. We’re committed to keeping you informed and supported throughout this transition.
Where we are now
We’re nearing the end of the formal reorganisation process across our teams and localities. While some staff will be working in new areas, we want to reassure you that:
- There will be no disruption to current support. The staff member you’ve been working with will continue delivering the services already in place
- Some settings may not yet have a named contact. We’re aware of this and will be addressing it in next week’s bulletin
- A clear structure chart will be shared in next week’s digest to help you navigate the changes
What’s coming next?
Here’s what to expect over the coming weeks:
- Updated staffing list and setting allocations – coming next Friday
- Review of current working arrangements – throughout October
- Continue using current referral routes – for Early Years Complex Needs, Nursery Plus, and Inclusion Funding
- Transition to new delivery models – during the second half of the Autumn term. We’ll work closely with you to identify and address any unintended impacts
