Become a ‘building babies brains’ community champion!
Early years offer
We can provide early years practitioners, staff and volunteers with quality, evidence informed Building Babies Brains workshops that will support staff to gain or increase confidence in the science behind baby brain development, bonding, child wellbeing, early communication and different types of stress. We explore building responsive relationships, having supportive conversations and provide simple strategies that support the emotional wellbeing of babies/children, parents/carers, and our own wellbeing.
We know that attending Building Babies brains supports increased curiosity and insight into what babies need and how /what we do can improve their life chances. The workshops provide space to think / reflect on practise, how we can support each other as it takes a village to grow a child, how to pass these messages on to colleagues, carers and out further in the community and how small changes could make a big difference.
What we will cover?
- Baby brain development, especially during the vital 0-2 years
- Tools for being in relationships with others, including Dan Hughes “PACE”
- What babies need to build strong, healthy and resilient stress regulation systems
- The importance of self-care for wellbeing
- How this supports communication / speech and language
- Building confidence in passing this information on widely
- About risk and trauma in the early years, and how to build resilience for lifelong skills.
- Giving space for reflection and conversations.

- Building Babies Brains Champion, Natalie, Deputy Manager Spring Nurseries:
I got a lot of strategies, tips and advice to use in my role. How small changes in the language we use can get an improved response. Understanding of why interactions in the first years of life are so important. A lovely chance to learn from staff at different settings.
