An update from the Early Years and Childcare Service, including the latest developments taking place within Devon’s Early Years Inclusion Service around the new Single Request for Support process.

Parents and carers of young children in Devon are being encouraged to use free local support to help their child get ready for school. 

This guidance advises those working with children on how to reduce the risks of hot weather to the health of people they provide care for.

On 13 July 2026 the Department for Education (DfE) published updated EYFS frameworks for childminders and group and school-based providers, which apply from 1 September 2026.

Early years providers are encouraged to share information about the Priority Services Register (PSR) with families and staff who may benefit from additional support during utility supply interruptions.
