This suite of resources supports early years providers and inspectors in delivering high-quality care and education from November 2025. It includes updated inspection frameworks, practical guidance for curriculum planning, and research insights to ensure every child gets the best start in life.

The Early Years South West Stronger Practice Hub are pleased to announce some new (fully funded) CPD opportunities available to early years and childcare practitioners. Training includes: ‘Selective communicators online webinars’ and a 6-part series on Neurodiversity in the early years network.

Welcome to our fifth update on the ongoing redesign of Devon’s Education and Learning Services, specifically focusing on Early Years and Childcare.

Winkleigh Primary School has successfully expanded its nursery provision to include care for children under 2 years old, following a year-long journey of planning, funding, and development. Read their story.

In September the Department for Education launched the Big Switch Campaign. As part of this campaign an early years careers guide was launched to inspire more people to consider a career in early years education.

Become a ‘building babies’ brain champion by joining us on our fully funded series of workshops to support you to increase your knowledge of baby brain development, bonding and resilience, and be confident in ‘passing on’ this information to parents/carers/communities. Sessions start in November.
