Devon Early Years and Childcare Service has strengthened its safeguarding policies and introduced a draft attendance policy to support early years providers in preparing for the EYFS statutory framework changes coming in September 2025.

Devon Early Years and Childcare Service has launched an updated Safeguarding Self-Assessment Tool to support early years providers in reviewing and strengthening their safeguarding practices.

The safeguarding and child protection core (for all early years and childcare practitioners) – eLearning training has been updated in preparation for the updated Early years foundation stage (EYFS) statutory framework, which comes into effect on 1st September 2025.

From 1st September 2025, the DfE will implement major reforms to the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) statutory framework for childminders and group-based providers. These changes aim to enhance child safety and improve staff accountability.
