The 2023-2024 Childcare Sufficiency Assessment Report was signed off at Cabinet on 8 January 2025. Anyone interested in expanding or setting up new early years and childcare provision in Devon should read the report to determine where more places are needed.

Become a building babies brains community champion!
Become a Building Babies’ Brain Champion by joining us on our Building Babies’ Brains fully funded series of workshops to support you to increase your knowledge of baby brain development, bonding and resilience, and be confident in ‘passing on’ this information to parents/carers/communities. Sessions start on 24 Jan in Exeter (6 sessions running from Jan – March).

Wraparound childcare funding extended to Spring 2026 – apply now
The DfE have awarded the extension of the wraparound Childcare funding to March 2026. This means any school or private provider who opens a new childcare provision before March 2026, could receive at least one year’s funding. Find out more by attending one of our free briefing sessions which are open to schools, private or independent providers and childminders. Sessions will run in Jan, Feb and March.
