Decision to extend the current professional services (Engineering) contract with WSP UK
To extend the existing contract with WSP UK in line with the provisions in the contract for a further 3 years to March 2028. The extension be under the existing conditions of contract.
This decision has been made on the basis of WSP’s performance to date which is monitored via key performance indicators (KPIs) and the also the value associated with not needing to re-tender the contract. WSP have presented a proposal for additional value for the extension period. There would be no change to the conditions of contract under the extension.
It would be possible to return to the market and re-tender the professional services contract. The existing contract has a provision to extend initial 5 year period to a maximum to 10 years. The contract is subject to ongoing KPIs and it is considered that WSP continue to provide a valuable service in designing and delivering infrastructure projects for DCC.
There is significant cost associated with returning to the market to re-tender and it is considered that there is no additional value to gain from the exercise at this time.
