Decision to award the contract for CP1924-20 – Shielding Food top-up delivery.

Decision Taken:

To award a contract (Subject to due diligence) to the below organization for the provision of the above contract. The contract will commence on 17/04/2020, for the period of 8 weeks, with an option to extend for any further periods of COVID-19 shielding as required by the Government, Public Health and legislation.

Summary of Reason(s) for Decision Taken:

The decision has been taken on the basis of the supplier being in a unique position to carry out the urgent food delivery service to the 8 districts for COVID-19 shielded individuals, with specific dietary requirements. It is clear that in these exceptional circumstances, authorities may need to procure goods, services and works with extreme urgency. Authorities are permitted to do this using regulation 32(2)(c) under the Public Contract Regulations 2015.

No conflict of interest has been identified. The decision was taken by Simon Kitchen, Head of Communities, having completed a Pandemic Funding Protocol form and received approval for spend of up to £100k for food delivery.
