Officer Decisions
Head of Planning, Transportation and Environment - Dave Black
Options for the location of a new electricity substation in Exeter and progression towards the submission of a planning application.
Decision to progress a planning application for ‘site 2’ following the production of the Options Appraisal Report and share the draft layout plan of the proposed substation with the Local Member and stakeholders for feedback.
Following a consultation on location options for the proposed substation at South West Exeter, feedback has been reviewed and an Options Appraisal Report published which provides a detailed appraisal of the site options and identifies the preferred location as ‘site 2’.
‘Site 2’ will now be progressed, and a draft layout plan shared with the Local Member and stakeholders for feedback in order to inform work being undertaken to progress a planning application. This will allow any relevant issues to be addressed where required in advance of the submission of the planning application.
The draft layout could not be shared and would only become available when the planning application is submitted. This was rejected as feedback received will be able to inform the planning application.
