Officer Decisions

Chief Officer for Communities, Public Health, Environment and Prosperity - Steve Brown

Summary of Matter or Issue Requiring Decision:

Decision to extend CP700-10 HIV/AIDS Community Support Service contract, with The Eddystone Trust, for a further 12 months, as per the extension option stated within the contract.

Decision Taken:

To extend the contract with the below organisations for the provision of the above contract. The contract extension will commence on 1st April 2015, for the period of 12 Months. There is a further option to extend for a further 12 months

Organisation Name and Address
The Eddystone Trust, 36 Looe Street, Bretonside, Plymouth, PL4 0EB

Summary of Reason(s) for Decision Taken:

The has been taken on the basis that the contract value has been reduced by 5% per year since the contract was awarded, and the contract value will reduce by a further 5% over this extension period.
Re-competing / re-tendering the contract is unlikely to bring a saving of this kind.
The current contract is also performing very well.

Summary of Alternatives or Options considered and rejected:

• One of the options considered would be for the contract to simply come to an end.
• A second alternative would be to re-tender the service.
• A third and preferred option would be to continue the service.

Details of any conflict of interest and dispensation granted to the Officer taking the decision or by any Member of the Council in delegating responsibility for any specific express delegation:

No conflict of interest applicable to this contract award.
