Road markings across Devon are remarked through the following three annual planned maintenance programmes,
- Main Road Remark Programme – remarking of lining along a particular route. This includes the give-way markings along that route. The priority is defined by a Condition Survey of the lining. This programme also replaces missing or damaged cat’s eyes (road studs).
- Parish Remark Programme – remarking of all lining within Parishes (includes all Devon Towns and the Wards in Exeter) including the give-way markings. The priority is defined by reports from local Highways Teams and Non-Safety Defect information provided by the public.
- Civil Enforcement Lining Remark Programme – remarking of worn lining related to parking restrictions especially in urban areas. These sites are identified by reports from the Parking Enforcement Officers and the public.
