White Disabled Bays Modbury

1. Will the Local Authority install more marked white disabled bays, for the use of shoppers, in the residential ‘Galpin Street’ of Modbury, Devon?

Devon County Council will only install parking restrictions where they meet policy.

The request for changes to parking restrictions will come from residents, members of the public and councillors.

2. How many time restricted marked white disabled bays have been installed on residential streets, for the use of shoppers nearby? Please include a breakdown of all towns, villages within the county.

The location and number of time restricted disabled bays can be found on our parking restriction website Traffweb.

3. May a disabled resident to apply to remove the time restrictions of a marked white disabled bay, for the benefit of shoppers, on a residential street directly outside of their home already?

Disabled bays can be used by any person who has been issued a blue badge. The purpose of a time restricted disabled bay is to limit the length of stay in that bay to short periods of time. If the time restriction is removed, then it is possible for a blue badge holder to stay in the bay all day preventing others from using it.

A request can be made for the time restriction to be removed, but for the above reasons it is unlikely to be supported.
