Traffic Flow Monitoring for Upper Hulham Road and Higher Marley Road, Exmouth

Could you provide details of all Traffic Flow Monitoring that has been carried out since 2015 on Upper Hulham Road and Higher Marley Road (in Exmouth). To cover all monitoring between Dinan Way and the B3179/B3180 on these 2 Roads.

Please view the available spreadsheet showing the all the traffic flow information which we hold for two roads requested.

Could you provide info on volumes by day and speed. If there was info showing volumes by hour that would be very helpful to see hourly peaks.

The information comes from six or seven day surveys, which also recorded average traffic speeds, and these are shown in the table below.

As well as the average (Mean) speed, the table also includes the 85th percentile speeds.  For your information, this is a widely used statistical metric which provides an estimation of the speed at which most vehicles are travelling at the survey location. It can be defined as, “the speed at or below which 85 percent of all vehicles are observed to travel past a monitored point”. It is used by highway engineers throughout the industry for a number of reasons, including when speed limits are being assessed.
