The residents’ parking scheme was introduced via a traffic regulation order (TRO). The restrictions originally applied for 24 hours 7 days a week, for a specified distance. The TRO was sealed on 29/07/2004, and implemented 09/08/2004.
A further TRO was sealed on 26/03/2010, and implemented on 01/04/2010. It amended the residents parking restrictions from 24 hours 7 days a week to a timed restriction. This TRO also removed the specified length of road and applied the restriction for its entire length of adopted highway.
An Experimental TRO (ETRO) was introduced on 20/05/11. This order went to Highway and Traffic Orders Committee (HATOC) on 29/07/11. It introduced a residents parking (Zonal) restriction Monday to Saturday 9am to 6pm (Totnes Zone B), Westward Close, both sides from its junction with Warland for its entire length to its closed end.
A TRO then made the ETRO permanent with approval from Local Members and HATOC Chair on 23/05/12.
Please refer to copies of the sealed TRO’s and the relevant proposal advertisements for further information.
