Signs from three different businesses were removed by Devon County Council on Tuesday 30th May on the approaches to the new Kitterford Cross roundabout. The removed signs were located within the site boundary. One sign was too heavy to remove but contact was made with the business with the request to remove the sign. We did not remove signs on any other dates.
2. In each case, what were the specific reasons for removing the temporary signs?
The reason was the same in each case. The signs were located on the public highway without authorisation by the highway authority.
3. What was the precise location of each temporary sign that was so removed?
The signs were located on the approaches to the new Kitterford Cross roundabout within the site boundary.
4. How many temporary signs were exempted from removal and allowed to remain in situ?
Apart from the sign which was too heavy to move all unauthorised signs were removed from the site extents on the 30th May 2023.
5. In the case of any temporary sign exempted and not removed between the 1 May and 25 August 2023, what was the reason for such exemption?
One sign remained, as it was too heavy to move.
6. It has already been stated by Devon County Council that three businesses associated with the placing of temporary signs at Kitterford Cross have received contact from Devon County Council about the removal of their temporary signs placed at the location. What is the precise nature of each of the three businesses that have received such contact, and on what dates was contact made with them by Devon County Council?
One of the businesses was a local hospitality business. Contact was made in person on site on the 30th May 2023 as the business owner witnessed the sign removal.
The second business was a leisure attraction. Contact was made on the 31st May 2023.
The third business was advertising a charitable event. Contact was made on the 12th June 2023.
The fourth business was a local service business. Contact was made on the 12th June 2023.
7. If disclosure of the precise nature of the three businesses is exempted under the Act, then please confirm that the claim of contact by Devon County Council with the three other businesses is factually correct, and in each case, the date upon which each of the three received such contact from Devon County Council.

The business was a leisure attraction.
