Tarmacking and Give Way Markings – Saturdays Lane, Kingskerswell

I note that Saturdays Lane Kingskerswell has been retarmacked and give way markings at the junction. This is a single track Lane, with little or no use. Unless your data tells me any different?

Please can you provide me with the decision making trail for this work. Both tarmac and markings.

Can you provide the timescales and the cost?

Please include the process for prioritising this work against other road repairs.

The work recently undertaken was carriageway patching in preparation for a surface dressing treatment next year.

This was primarily identified as requiring work from on site inspections by the local Neighbourhood Highway Officer. As such an instruction was raised to our Design teams, who informed that the most appropriate course of action was to patch and surface dress the road.

As part of the patching work included areas on the junctions, the give way markings were repainted.

Our contractor commenced the patching work on Wednesday 11th May 2022 and completed on Friday 20th May 2022.

The cost of the patching and road marking work was £43,436.23.

This work is prioritised against other similar work when considering various factors including ;

  • Visual inspections by Officers
  • Condition and pothole data of the road
  • Representations made by road users
  • Budget availability
