The final cycleway design was agreed under delegated approval with the Local Member Councillor Greg Sheldon, Chair of Highways and Traffic Orders Committee (HATOC) Councillor Yvonne Atkinson and Head of Planning, Transport and Environment Dave Black. This is consistent with the approval for the scheme at the October 2020 meeting of Exeter HATOC.
In response to the correspondence following opening of the scheme, an update was taken to the October 2021 meeting of Exeter HATOC. The report included a range of options including to amend or remove the scheme, but the committee decided to retain the scheme as has been delivered. 4. Please provide the name(s) and their job titles of individuals who agreed that the build of the cycle lane should not be rectified.
As detailed above, the scheme was agreed under delegated powers with the Local Member, Chair of HATOC and Head of Planning, Transport and Environment. The Local Member had changed at this point to Councillor Danny Barnes. A report was taken to HATOC following the scheme opening and a Road Safety Audit post opening was undertaken.
