Streetlight repair history – Axminster Post Office, EX13 5NU

The street light just outside of the Axminster Post Office, West St, Axminster EX13 5NU was repaired and moved at some point between November 2017 and May 2018. Please provide as much information/documentation you have surrounding this, including the reason why the light was repaired, and moved to a slightly different position/location.

According to our records, the luminaire on column no. 45B (outside the post office) was replaced on 01/05/2018 as part of our LED upgrade programme which continues to take place across Devon to this day.

With regards to the position of the streetlight, we have no records of the column moving and the Google images seem to support this conclusion. However, the request may be referring to relocation of the luminaire itself. It hasn’t been relocated as such, but rather installed on a setback crank arm to provide an improved setback from the kerb edge. The new lantern is an Urbis Ampera Zebra which is specifically designed for lighting zebra crossings (as the light is aimed at the crossing itself).

Please see this previous request and Devon County Council’s streetlighting policy for more information about street lighting.
