1. How many maintained school buildings, if any, were closed due to serious structural issues in your local authority in each year since 2010?
Devon County Council does not hold information that will detail the number of weeks a school was closed due to serious structural issues.
However, we can confirm that one school had four buildings that needed to move into Temporary Accommodation for a period of time due to structural concerns. These were subsequently all demolished, the school did not close.
Two other buildings (maximum two classrooms) were closed for a period of approximately 6 weeks due to unforeseen structural concerns, remedial works were undertaken and the schools did not close.
