I would like to see the safety audit for the proposed crossing on the A3125 (albeit the description says it is on the Bickington Road). It is in fact the Roundswell Link Road. The Bickington Road runs parallel to this road.
Please see this previous Freedom of Information request for this information.
I would also like to know who the senior manager who signed off on this project.
Under Section 21 of the Freedom of Information Act, Devon County Council is not obliged to provide this information as it is already available on this webpage .
Furthermore the lights are said to go off at random, ie, when no one is crossing and this will only lead to people jumping the lights. Furthermore Ambulances use this road from the ambulance station will impede them somewhat. Please verify.
The traffic signals at the crossing will not turn red at random times. Options for the traffic signals include them turning red at fixed intervals during set time periods, or at times when queues are detected on the Bickington approach to the roundabout. The principle of this was tested through a trial and approved thorough multiple Council Committees as set out in the 9 March 2022 Cabinet report.
