Safeguarding Concerns – Care Providers

1.In relation to adults and children, how many safeguarding incidents and/or contractual issues have arisen with care providers that you have paid in the last 12 months?

2. How many of these incidents have arisen as a result of your authority contracting for care services with a novated non-regulated entity, which are paid standard rated VAT in addition to their fees?

Devon County Council believes compliance with this request would exceed the appropriate costs limit under section 12 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000, which is £450 or 18 hours of officer time. Devon County Council do not collate this information, and as such do not have a centralised record of the figures. In order to extract this data, we would need to manually check every care record. Due to the sheer volume of records, this would exceed the 18 hour appropriate limit.
