1. The total number of roadworks initiated or active in each of the last three calendar years (or financial years, if easier to provide), broken down by year.
2022/23
31,413
2023/24
32,084
2024/25
27,458
2. The duration of each roadwork project, or if not available individually, then:
– The average duration of roadworks each year over the same period.
Compliance with this request would exceed the appropriate cost limit under Section 12 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 which is £450 or 18 hours of officer time. The duration of each project would require individual records to be checked and information obtained. The average duration figure for all works is 4.59 days and if this took 5 minutes per record, then just for 2022/23, this would take 2,617 hours, which exceeds the appropriate cost limit.
Under the Act, there is a duty to provide advice and assistance as to how a request can be refined to fit within the appropriate limit. Unfortunately, due to the way the data is held), this is not possible for this request.
3. A breakdown by month (for each year, if possible) showing in which months roadworks were active.
