PSTN and ISDN services withdrawal

– Have you got a strategy for the WLR (Wholesale Line Rental) withdrawal of PSTN (Public Switched Telephone Network) and ISDN (Integrated Services Digital Network) services?

Yes, we are categorising the PSTN services to see what they are used for. Voice / Voice and Broadband / A carrier for Broadband only / Alarms (Lift/Fire/intruder) and looking at the alternative options available to us. Some will most likely be ceased before the deadline through natural progression, technology changes and office moves. We have very little ISDN as we already make good use of SIP (Session Initiation Protocol). We are also working with our main line and broadband provider to identify the most appropriate solution going forward. We will then embark on a rolling programme to migrate services.

– If so and time permitting, what is the time frame you have in place to comply by December 2025?

Unknown, but we intend meeting the 2025 deadline and don’t foresee any issues achieving that. We are already part way through the planning and data gathering stage.
