We endeavour to audit 5% of all completed defect works each year (this includes defect types other than potholes.)

Between 1 December 2022 and 1 December 2023, 21.59% of works were inspected post completion.
3) What percentage of inspections lead to further works to be completed?
Between 1 December 2022 and 1 December 2023, 12.08% of inspected works required remedial action.
4) What is the rate of failure of repaired pot holes over 1/3/6 and 12 months?
The County Council does not hold comprehensive information on the failure rate of repaired potholes. A total of 33,631 potholes and 18,747 other defects have been repaired since 1 April 2023. During this period 19 orders for remedial work have been raised, where we have identified or been made aware a repair has failed.
