I wish to know if Stancott Farm, TQ13 0DN is a Pinch Point as defined by the South Hams SAC – HRA Guidance with respect to Greater Horseshoe Bats (2019) and the Devon County Council Environment Viewer.
The precise location of “Stancott Farm” is not apparent from the Ordnance Survey mapping data held by Devon County Council. Nor is this name recognised by Google Maps. However, there are no “Pinch Points” (nor “Pinch Point Areas” nor “Pinch Point Lines”) in the immediate vicinity of the post code TQ13 0DN. The closest “Pinch Point Area” is marked in the low lying valley of the Kate Brook as it passes immediately to the east of Chudleigh, well over a kilometre from the marked point for this postcode.
These pinch points can be viewed on the Environment Viewer which is available via this web link: Environmental maps – Environment (devon.gov.uk). Click on the ‘Ecology and geology maps’ link, agree to the terms and conditions and zoom in to the relevant location. Thereafter, select the relevant layers from the “Layer List”, which is the second of the drop-down menus located on the top, right-hand side of the mapping. Select the boxes for ‘Ecology and Geology’, then ‘Wildlife site data’, then ‘Statutory Sites’ and, finally, the three relevant boxes showing the different types of “Pinch Point”.
