In relation to the two new parklets installed by Exeter City, please can you advise whether DCC gave permission for the relevant parking spaces to be removed. Which committee or person (role) has the authority to allow the parking spaces to be removed and on what date was this given?
Permission was granted via our Section 171 process. This refers to powers under Highways Act 1980 that allows a Highway Authority to grant permission to “Deposit Material On, Build Over, Or Temporarily Use An Area of the Public Highway”. Approval is provided by our Neighbourhood Highway Team and was given on the 19th January 2024
