1. What is the total amount of funding allocated to parenting skills programs and support within your council for the last fiscal year for which data is available?
This is currently Commissioned to Action for Children (AFC) to deliver support for families with children ages 0-8 but with a primary focus on 0-5’s.
Parenting skills delivered by AFC are part of the Targeted Early Help Offer delivered from Devon. The Family Intervention Service – Early Help is a family support offer. In addition we put aside £15,000 a year to facilitate the delivery of our evidence based parenting courses.
We therefore do not hold a specific total.
2. How many staff members does the council currently employ to work in the area of parenting skills and support?
Devon County Council do not employ any staff in the area of parenting skills and support, as this is a commissioned Service Managed currently by AFC.
3. Does the council offer any of the following parenting programs: Triple P, Incredible Years, Solihull Approach, Nurture?
As part of their commissioned service AFC do provide parenting courses to parents with children under the age of 8. They do deliver Incredible Years, Incredible Years Autistic Spectrum Disorder (IYASD) Solihull and various nurture groups, (Here’s looking at you Baby and Here’s Looking at you little one; both of these groups are nurture groups for babies and young children) as part of their commissioned service. Which is not delivered directly by the council.
The delivery of the Triple P Transitions and the Within My Reach parental conflict programmes are commissioned out from the Local Authority to the Voluntary Sector. The costs are funded through the DWP grant funding provision.
4. What is the total expenditure for digital parenting resources within your council for the last fiscal year for which data is available?
AFC deliver digital parenting courses as part of their commissioned service within their define contract budget. AFC also deliver the Parent Talk Programme which is funded directly by the charity

5. How many parents received parenting skills support from your council in the last year for which data is available?
This is part of the Commissioned Service delivered by AFC. The EIPP (Evidenced Informed Parenting Programmes ) figures for 1/4/22 – 31/3/23 confirm that 293 parents/carers attended a parenting course during this time period.
111 parents attended either the Triple P Transitions or Within My Reach programmes including resources.
The Local Authority is providing training for professionals to deliver further support to parents using the Amity Parental Toolkit.
67 staff received training to deliver support to parents within Devon in the last fiscal year.
