Devon has not closed any of our Children’s Centre delivery. One nursery has been transferred to a private provider.
By way of further information, we have reduced the number of dedicated Children’s Centre buildings to ensure funding goes into delivery rather than running costs of buildings. We now have 26 dedicated Children’s Centre buildings in Devon that are used for multi-agency delivery of services for families with children eight and under.
Please detail how many childcare places this represents in total and detail the number of childcare places that have been transferred in settings sold or transferred broken down by public sector providers, private providers and voluntary and community sector providers.
In relation to the nursery which has been transferred to a private provider, this represents 34 places with at least 66 children on roll
Please detail how many staff posts this represents in total and detail the number of staff posts in settings sold or transferred to public sector providers, private providers and voluntary and community sector providers.
