I would like to know how many social workers and family practitioners are employed by Devon County Council (DCC).
DCC employs 410 Social Workers. Please note that this number is specific to jobs that have Social Worker in the job title and does not include Team Managers or Assistant Team Managers. DCC also employs 158 Family Practitioners.
I would like to know, how many are on long term sick, or suspended from work.
There are currently 13 on long term sickness (28 days+).
Regarding suspensions from work, Devon County Council believes compliance with this request would exceed the appropriate costs limit under section 12 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 which is £450 or 18 hours of officer time. This is because people can be suspended from work for a range of different reasons, and there is no central record of this information. To get this information we would have to manually go through the records of each social worker and family practitioners. As there are 568 social workers and family practitioners altogether, even allowing 5 minutes for each record, this would take well in excess of the 18 hour limit.
