In line with normal Freedom of Information requests I am looking for existing data – if some data is not held in an accessible form, then I would be grateful if you would provide what is convenient.

We do not hold this information. Funding for a child in care is received by a virtual school within LA in which the child is in care e.g. if a child is in care to Devon County Council then funding is received by Devon Virtual School who is responsible for supporting this child, wherever the child is placed. Each local authority needs to keep records of other local authority children in care in their area (but they are not receiving funding relating to their status of child in care).
Option c) Yes, we provide additional funding for mainstream schools that is targeted to tutoring or individual catch-up.

We can confirm the following:
The inclusion service may provide tutoring or other alternative provision for and of the categories below based on need.
We either commission this directly, or commission it through a school where a young person is on roll.
We do not provide funds for families directly.
Tutoring is provided to children with an Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP) either funded by a personal budget or directly if no other suitable placement is available.
All these categories are eligible if the child has an EHCP
Youth Justice Service do not provide separate funding for online tuition, this is always arranged by the Local Authority education services with pre release sentence planning meetings. If offered by the local authority, either via SEND Team, Inclusion Team if school aged or Devon Virtual School if under local authority care upon release the student would be eligible for support.
