With regards to new traffic signals, there has been one signal controlled pedestrian crossing installed on Landkey Road near Burlington Close. This was carried out by Telent traffic signals and was funded with money from the Local Transport Plan.

In respect of street lighting, we have replaced 4 old columns for new and added one completely new column (all standard equipment) in Maiden Street, of which two of these columns have been fitted with a commando socket for future use by the Town Council to install their CCTV on. Our street lighting contractor Enerveo will have carried out the replacement of the columns and the funding for this came from the Barnstaple Safer Streets grant.

We have also installed a Telensa Base Station in North Walk, near Tooley Street which works on a low frequency radio waves communication to the Telecells and 3G/4G SIMs to communicate. This was also carried out by Enerveo and this rollout is a Devon County Council funded capital project
