Land Ownership Flora Close/St Johns Rd, Exmouth

I am writing to you to request information on land between Flora Close and numbers 60, 62 & 64 St Johns Road Exmouth.
Please can you answer the following.
1. Is this land owned by the council?

No.

2. Was this land previously owned by the council?

Yes.

If the land was previously owned by the council please can you answer the following
1. Who now owns the land.
2. When was it sold.
3. How much was it sold for.

With regards to questions 1-3, the land between Flora Close and 60-64 St Johns Road was originally two pieces of land which were owned by Devon County Council until they were both transferred to East Devon District Council. One piece was transferred in 1998, along with the playing field, for the sum of £5 and the other area was transferred to East Devon District Council in 2001 for £5.

4. Who authorised the sale of the land.

For the area of land sold in 1998, the agreement was approved under Property Transaction Report (PTR) HQ076 for the ‘sale of surplus playing fields’ and was signed on 17th August 98 by The Valuer , Devon County Council (DCC) Estates Manager and The County Treasurer. This PTR was presented for Education Committee Approval.

For the area of land sold in 2001, this was approved in PTR 0101 dated 11th April 2001, in a resolution named ‘disposal of access track and was signed by The Valuer, DCC Estates Manager and Director of Resources . This PTR was presented for Executive Committee Approval.

Names of those who authorised the sale of the land are exempt from disclosure under Regulation 13(1) of the Environmental Information Regulations 2004 (Personal Data). 

The Council cannot disclose personal information, if releasing it would contravene any of the provisions in the UK General Data Protection Regulation. In this instance release of this information would contravene the first data protection principle and therefore the information is withheld.

5. Was this land put on the open market, and if so please can you supply evidence of when and where this occurred.

Devon County Council do not hold this information.
